Through Thursday, January 15. "Christmas on the Potomac" Card Exhibit. The 2008 card exhibit, "Christmas on the Potomac," will feature Christmas cards from US presidents, from Herbert Hoover to George W. Bush. Cards from University President Harris Pastides and, if available, US President-elect Barack Obama and Governor Mark Sanford,will also be on display. Friday, December 26-Saturday, December 27. Christmas in Hopelands. Each year the City of Aiken spreads holiday joy with a night-time journey though Hopelands Gardens lit by over 100,000 lights magically arranged in dazzling sculptures of the season. Sunday, December 28. 5, 10, 20 Celebration!The Columbia Museum of Art joins other Columbia museums in celebrating their 10th Anniversary. This year, EdVenture Children's Museum celebrates its 5th anniversary and the South Carolina State Museum celebrates its 20th Anniversary. In conjunction with all museum celebrations in the Columbia area, members of each museum will receive free admission to the museums this Sunday! Please bring your membership card for free admission. Monday, December 29-Wednesday, December 31. Winter Break Camp. Warm up at Riverbanks as we escape the cold to visit the animals of the tropics during Winter Break Camp 2008! Join us as we journey from the rainforest to the savanna searching for the hottest critters around. Campers ages 6-10 will participate in activities that focus on how animals are adapted to survive in the world's hottest climates. Come shake off the winter blues with three fun-filled days packed with hands-on activities, live animal encounters, arts & crafts, zoo walks and tons of games! The Riverbanks winter camp program is designed and led by the same professional staff that oversees our summer and spring camp programs. Space is limited, so register in person, by mail, or online.
Tuesday, December 30. USC Basketball. Come out and support the men's and women's basketball teams as they continue their winning seasons! The men will take on Clemson at 7 pm and the women will take on Jacksonville at 3 pm. Both games are home and will be held at the Colonial Life Arena.
