January Box Time Capsule

Having a Merry Christmas I hope? I am taking some time off from the toy explosion in the living room to hide out in my sister's office and blog. Maybe I am a new addict.

This year I am starting a January Box. It's going to be a recall of the major successes, trials, ups & downs of the last year in every department of my life and business, so that next year I can measure my growth better. I am doing this because I am always trying to look back to see where I was and how far I have come and never can seem to remember the details.

So -if you are so inclined to join this...feel free....a January Box listing the: success and failures, growth, new opprotunities, financial standing, assests, liabilities, relationships (or lack or them!) spiritual growth and areas that are currently being worked on, age, weight, hairstyle...etc

This will be like a Yearly Time Capsule I guess....It should be interesting.

Merry Christmas....

Hi Jill, I have never heard of a January box, but maybe I will try it.

Jill -

I like your idea - get your thoughts together, so you have a summary of the good, the bad, and the ugly of the past year.

And work hard to make everything GOOD in 2009!

Merry Christmas!

Now . . . back to the family!

It's amazing to me how blogs mirror our lives.  I've also determined that it is important to make time for things like "january boxes" so we can remember the times we've had over the past year.  Great post!

That is such a great idea, especially when you have kids.  I should start one labeled 2008 and maybe place some notes inside.  Hmmmm.....what would I include?

  1. I cut my bangs.
  2. One crazy low year in real estate.
  3. Bank bailouts.
  4. Auto bailouts.
  5. Obama.
  6. One of my son's first words was "Obama".
  7. I finally broke down and bought a flat screen.
  8. I didn't get sick for Christmas!!!

I would say officially you are an addict, if you are:

l. leaving a family gathering to use the internet  2. hiding out in the host's office, using their computer  3.  Posting on Christmas

Great idea on the January box!

Seems like it would be a good time to do it, coinciding with New Year's resolutions...a perfect time for reflecting and new beginnings!

Jill- This sounds like a really great idea. It will be helpful to look back on these after you have 5-10 years of January boxes! Good luck in 2009.

Thanks everyone for those great comments....I am addicted to AR, AND I needed a break from all the "Aunty Jill can you help me with this/ that  etc" I am still single and no kids so the noise factor gets to me faster I think....

as for the January Box...it is just something I thought of the other day. I never read it anywhere....I just think I need to do it for a measure of some kind. It could even be as simple as a list saved in the computer....

Happy New Year! :)
