With Awesome Pow Comes Real Danger!

This is the view that I woke up to....

It's a beautiful morning....about five degrees outside here in Lake Tahoe!  Plenty of snow to shovel and the roads are still slick, so be careful skiier and boarders if you're heading this way.

Heavenly is lookin really good with 3' of new snow.....what a great start to the season.  No doubt, people will be flocking up to hit the slopes and take advantage of all the fresh powder!!  With that being said, remember that it doesn't matter if you're an expert or not, you can't beat mother nature.  Stay on the groomers and away from the back country steeps.

Don't ski out of bounds!

We've already lost one young local man yesterday to an avalanche at Squaw Valley (he was an expert skier) and two other young adults were lost at Mount Rose and had to be rescued.  It really pays to be cautious after a big storm like this no matter what your level of expertise might be.  Be smart, be safe and have fun!

My sincere condolences to the friends and families of those who were taken from us by such a horrible tragedy.
