Don't forget about the birds...

In this northern climate and eve on both coasts, the wildlife can have a tough time of it, expecially right after a storm when a lot of the natural foods are covered up.

This Ruffed Grouse...also called a Partridge...may have been looking for my Pear tree, but intstead found my bird feeder a few feet away.  This very warry and elusive bird will fly at the drop of a hat in the woods, but, here let me get within a few feet opting to stay close to the food sorce.

We need to be careful not to feed so much that these wild birds depend on us, but a small helping hand is in order at times.

Enjoy what Mother Nature has provided!

Bill...

We have been feeding birds for years and years, and we love to see the seasonal visitors! It's a wonderful past-time!

Fortunately our birds do not have to worry about the cold or a lack of food.

Aloha from Sunny Hawaii.

We will at times feed the birds that are in the area during the extreme weather days.  Fortunately we do not have very many of those kind of days.

Great way to get closer to the birds Richard.

Randy...with the vast array of birds you have, it would be hard to start to feed them.

Don...last years I went through 500 lbs of sunflower seeds,  300 lbs mixed seed, almost 1000 lbs corn and soybeans (for the deer and Turkeys.)

It is very enjoyable to say the least!
