Blackhawk Country Club is celebrating it's 25th anniversary this year.
Danville's Blackhawk Ranch was established in 1917 on 1,250 acres where registered Shire workhorses and pure-bred Shorthorn cattle were raised.
In 1975 6,200 acres of the expanded Blackhawk area was sold to Ken Behring, a Florida developer. After the "Blackhawk Wars' of local challenges, the Board of Supevisors approved the development for 4800 homes in 1974.
More challenges led to reducing the home count to 2400 and a donation of 2000 acres of open space to Mt. Diablo Park.
Today, Blackhawk is the premier home address in the Danville, CA area. Spectacular homes with views and golf course sites command some of the highest prices in the San Ramon Valley.
