A Most Valued Gift..
We have all at one time or another received a gift that we highly prize. We look at it and can remember everything about where we were and what we were doing when we received it. There are times that we just go thru life doing what comes natural to us. Not expecting anything in return and then someone comes up and says thank you with something that you will remember forever.
In June 2006 I had this very experience. As many of you know my son was stationed in Bagdad, Iraq from May 2005 to May 2006 serving with the 220th Engineers. While he was there the office that I was in at the time adopted his squad, sending them pre-paid phone cards and other items. It was our way of saying thank you for their service. We sent these items monthly until they rotated back to the United States and home.
Once my son was released to head home he made a stop by the house and presented me with this box that was hand made by the guys in his squad as their way of saying thank you. It may not look like much to some but to me it means the world to me. Those men and women gave while they were and still came back saying thank you.
