While there have been volumes written about pricing a seller's home and while none of the pricing tips presented in these blog posts are new or earth shattering, it is important to restate the obvious. Although real estate agents know this information intuitively, sellers don't often realize the facts and need to be informed so they don't make false assumptions and do make an informed and factual decisions.
Tip #7: If your home receives one or more offers, but the offering prices are low (also known as a low-ball offer), the market is speaking to you.
That said, a buyer may simply being trying to prod and see how desperate you are to sell your home. If you reject the offer or counter-offer close to the asking price, the buyer will typically walk away if they are truly looking for a bargain, or conversely, end up becoming more serious. If this happens multiple times with different buyers, your home is priced too high.
