WHY do YOU think we should be OPTIMISTIC about 2009??

By
Commercial Real Estate Agent

I think 2009 is going to be a GREAT year!!

All of the negative hype and hyperbole aside, lets look at what we have:

  • There is a growing awareness of global peace and harmony.

  • There is a renewed drive for energy conservation and green initiatives.

  • The looming demise of the American auto industry will bring forth new innovation in never-seen-before alternative power sources.

  • There is a new playing field in the business world and corporate corruption will be more difficult than ever before.

  • The war is no longer popular and it's ending, just ask all of our allies that have already pulled out.

  • We are at a 5-year low in gas prices.

  • We are at a 40-year low in mortgage rates.

  • The dust has settled from the pricing adjustment and it's going to be a great year to buy or lease Real Estate.

  • And finally the start of a new Presidency, one of great character and professionalism, brings a rebirth to what it means to be an American.

What am I missing?  What do you think?

My wish for you would be that you have a blessed and joyful New Year!  Don't hold back in 2009, instead, go with the flow and make your dreams come true!  Let 2009, be the year you are bold in actions and faith, and humble in spirit.

We truly only have one life to live.  We only have one chance.  We only have one moment at a time to create the life we were born to live.  All you have to do is jump in with all that you are and all that you wish to become.

Make your declaration that you will live with no fear in the New Year.  Say it to yourself, say it to the world on your blog.  Share your thoughts today.

Here's to an amazing 2009!  Happy New Year everybody!

I'm sending positive energy your way,

What are you missing?

You didn't mention a thing about Jesus or God. Without the help and blessing from them nothing else matters. Money is good but let's get to the reality of why we are here on this earth. This country needs a good shake up and hopefully they will learn from the mess we are in and move forward for the better. If not then it is a choice we have made.

Jon,

Thanks for the reality check.  To your point:

Jason,

Well tell that to the people losing their jobs (35,000 at B of A just a few weeks ago), losing their homes in unprecedented numbers, consumer's (real estate professionals included) being taxed and having their taxes given to banks who are purchasing other banks and giving their executives promotions, bonuses and raises.

It's good to be positive. I am positive about my situation because I know my success is directly linked into how hard I work and my faith that my savior has it all under control...good thing too, because if I was in charge, there would be a whole lot of smiting going on.

I wish you success in 2009,

Great Article - if only more people had your attitude the world would be a better place.

What is happening in the economy sadly had to happen - this country in particular needed a reality check on what is really important in life.

I know everyone is saying why your optimism is not realistic, but even if these are small, minimal and seemingly unsignificant changes, they are baby steps to a better 2009 and 2019 and the years to come.  I say this again: Great post, great perspective, great energy! Thank you!

I too, think this is a great post, we have to look forward, and be positive.  Even if everything doesn't come together that easily, the first step is always the hardest.  Stay positive, stay focus and good thing WILL happen.

Thanks for the positive energy.  I'll use it.  But, let's not put blinders on to what's really happening and advise our clients as to what's really going on.

I share your optimism, but I'm not sure why!  We're surrounded by gloom on all fronts and I'm just seeing the sun under all those clouds.  I think we still have some pain ahead, but I'm trying to take care of my needs and grow my business, so I need to remain optimistic.

Thanks for the good vibes,

Kim

Hi Jason,

Thanks for sending positive energy and encouraging words our way. We need more people like you in the world today. Blair Singer, a trainer, speaker, and creator of SalesDogs, a methodology that offers sales and communication success, and has helped thousands increase their income worldwide, stated recently in an article in "Success" magazine that "regardless of your economic condition, you can choose not to allow the economic condition to become your psychological condition. He closed by saying "Be Awesome."

I agree with Mr. Singer and I agree with you. I plan to make 2009 my best year ever. We must all learn to be happy and learn to create income in any economy.

Best Wishes in 2009,

Cathy Turner

Jason,

Thank you for your uplifting words. I can tell that you are a very positive person.

I am very thabkful for all the great people that I have in my life including my husband of almost thirty-nine years, my two children and my three grandchildren.  We have all been blessed with good health.

2008 has been a pretty bad year financially, but after all, it's only money. If you lose money you can possibly get it back, if you lose your health, it is not so easy to get that back.

Here's wishing all of you Active Rainers a Healthy and a Prosperous New Year.

Hi Jason, Don't let the negatives pull you down.  I agree that there are many positive factors working toward making 2009 a great year for everyone.  And each of us is responsible for our own attitude.  We may not be able to control some of the major things happening in the world, but we can all control how we react to them.  I tend to think that being positive brings more positive things to you than looking at the downside.  Thanks for the nice post.

Jason,

As we all know , there will always be people who don't agree with our thoughts, dreams, hopes, etc.  And I'm glad that we all feel able to express them so FREELY in our wonderful country.  Just imagine if we had to look over our shoulder before we posted a blog ,or even answered any blog to see if we'd be persecuted for our opinions!  This freedom ALONE is why I'm optimistic that we will work undauntingly to make 2009 as properous as it can be!

Great blog,

Kathy,

Keep that optimism in mind when the "Fairness Doctrine" act comes up for a vote again in the next congress.  It is anything but allowing freedom of speech. Then we'll see if we have to be looking over our shoulders.  Blogs with political opinions become targets of the legislation.

We just need to get the media to start focusing on the good things.  Maybe now that they can say the credit goes to someone else, they'll start.
