Two of my precious grandsons gave me 2 special books for Christmas (I'm sure their mom had a hand in helping them make a choice at Barnes & Nobles).
One book is called the "Christmas Jars" by Jason F. Wright.
What an inspiring book and is making me think about starting our own heartwarming Christmas Jar tradition next year.
This story for sure will become a Christmas classic.
The second book is entitled "Short Prayers for Busy Women" by Harriet Crosby. It says it was previously published as "God, Help Me". This book is written for women who struggle to balance thir professional, personal and spiritual lives. Hello! I believe this applies to all of us out there.
There are over 200 brief prayers in a collection designed to be carried in your briefcase, purse or pocket. I stuck it in my briefcase and already have seen how useful these prayers are! Today is the beginning of the last week in December and there are many reports to address, statistics to create, blogs to write, a buyer flying in to look at houses on Wednesday, December 31st and New Years Eve falling in the middle of the week! Help!! I opened my little book of prayers and found a perfect one for this morning:
God,
This morning promises a new day filled with new beginnings. Help me not to waste any opportunities to start fresh. Open my eyes to see open doors today. Amen.
I know I will need to say this next prayer before the week is over:
God,
I need to spend time with you. Help me to make sure there is room for you in my schedule. Amen.
Little did my grandsons know how many times I will use these prayers when I need a special word or thought to give me strength to do the next task in the thick of a busy day!
