Is anyone else scared??

By
Real Estate Agent with HomeQuest Realty/Managing Broker

I have to say that in 10 years, I have never been so scared in my life of our changing market!!  I swiched gears about a year and a half ago and started driving my efforts towards our declining market by doing short sales.  I have been very successful, however, the banks seem to be switching gears and not really playing ball with us anymore.  It is increasingly difficult to find buyers for homes with even the best discounts!!  If anyone out there has any positive words, I would love to hear them!!  Happy New Year!!  I hope we see things turn around for all of us, soon.

Kelley, it's always a changing market.  Just keep your eyes and ears open and see what the shifts are and adjust as you need to.  The public still needs and wants our services.

Kelley, I don't see what you are talking about... Maybe I am in a different market.  But real estate has not been the same since I jumped into this business, it is always a wild ride.  I am busy, there are many buyers out there, it is just how you play the business and how you adapt that will bring the positive energy, dont get discouraged and just look at the challenge as another way to rise to the top time and time again.

Once things stabilize, the buyers will start testing the water and buying homes.  A lot of people are in wait and see mode.  Rates are down nicely and that will help too.

I am a bit concerned by how much your business life is affecting your personal feelings. It is not very healthy to have your business be all that consuming. Be careful and make sure you are finding things to enjoy in life. You can always count on me for positive words. I refuse to let any one thing bring me down. If you think you have it bad, take a look outside of your circle. Feed the homeless, clothe the poor, or maybe work at a shelter for battered women. I am not trying to put you down, I just hope you are not letting yourself get so far down in the scale of happiness that you loose perspective!! Make a gratitude list every night and you may realize just how wonderful your life is!!!

Happy Monday!!

The market is definitely evry rocky right now and supposibly, its going to get worse in 09'! What we need to do right now is protect what we have and hold on to everything. You have to keep a positive attitude everyday and give yourself goals. If you were working hard before, you need to work ten times harder now. Good luck to you and hold on tight. Have a great New Years!

The market is without a doubt challenging.  But everything runs in cycles.  Hang in there better times are on the horizon.

What is there to be scared of? I see many fun and exciting times ahead. I also see a lot more personal satisfaction. Hey don't get me wrong, it's always nice to just have people give you money/business. But I know it certainly makes me feel better when I know I have really earned that dollar.

In the year ahead, we have the oppertunity to really prove we are the best. The first people to always fall out in times like this are those who were just feeding off the good times anyways. Odds are they didn't do a good job but there was enough work to be had, that even those with a bad reputation could find work. Now it's our turn again. Are you the best? I think I am. Ask my kids, they think I am! Ask my previous clients, they do to.

Don't shrivel up in fear, explode with excitement and make 2009 a real BANG!
