My Wish for the Remainder of Winter

By
Real Estate Agent with Long and Foster Real Estate VA License # 0225089470

The holiday season is passing, and the New Year is right around the corner.  The shortest day of the year has gone.  Winter will be with us for at least a couple more months.

Before old man winter retires for another year, I would love to see it snow.   One foot or more.  None of this barely covering the ground stuff.  I want something I can take a day off, grab a sled and enjoy.

I have lived in Northern Virginia my whole life.  When I was a kid, it wasn't unusual to get absolutely dumped on with regard to snow in any given winter.  Nowadays, it seems we rarely see one dusting per winter.

And if you ever want to house hunt in the snow, I'm your Realtor®.  Driving during, or after, a snow storm is not a concern to me.  It is a rare opportunity to enjoy our freeways and secondary roads with a bare minimum of traffic.

Chris Ann...

When I retire (and don't have to drive to work anymore) I want to love in a place with lots and lots of snow, good coffee and a nice warm fire!

Kathy:  My outlook on life depends on the day.  I tend to have a glass half-full philosophy, but have been known to let that philosophy go down the tubes temporarily.  This year has certainly tested my attitude.

Richard:  You are definitely going against the mainstream retirement dream there.  But I would rather be in a place that has snow, that a place that is warm year round and has no discernable seasons.

I like snow as long as it's a few hundred miles away or on television. I do like having four seasons, though, and fortunately San Diego and Southern California provides them: rain season, tourist season, drought season, fire season. -- LOL.

Best wishes for health, happiness, peace, and prosperity in 2009.

Jim:  I see...your four seasons are just different.  By the way, loved your post on Million Dollar Listing.

Hoping this winter we have less use for our snow shovels.

Pat:  Me too.  But if it comes down, I'm happy I made friends with the neighbor with the snow blower.
