Biggest Blogging Mistakes REALTORS® Make

By
Real Estate Agent with CENTURY 21 Regency Realty

The Biggest Blogging Mistakes REALTORS® Make:

1. Don't finish what they start / Inconsistent / Give up too soon

2. No original ideas (Imitating other bloggers and Re-blogging too often) They do not stand out from the crowd.

3. No purpose, direction or point & sloppy / unprofessional

4. Too technical (TOO MANY charts, statistics and marketing reports)

5. Not being informed enough about their subject matter

6. Not engaging the reader (No substance - nothing that draws the reader in and makes them want to come back for more)

7. No visuals / photos (or even worse-bad photos)

8. Purely self-promoting (not giving anything of value)

9. Coming across in writing like you are scolding the reader

10. Not enough content / Repetitive / Stale

11. Unresponsive to the reader / comments

12. Not having a catchy title or too vague...title not relevant to the post

13. Always complaining - Negativity - Use their blog or comments to attack others

14. Not being transparent (NOT BEING WHO THEY REALLY ARE)

15. Not balanced (ALL politics / ALL religion / ALL business)

BONUS:  Once you have achieved the 'GREAT BLOGGER' status...it is important that you follow-up and follow through with ALL of the new clients that your blogging investment generates!

Great list....it takes a lot of time to professionally handle your blog and keep your Localism posts up to date.

I think everyone does try to write but some have more talent than others. Also, if you read some of the successful blogger's first posts they were also struggling to find their voice and have improved dramatically over time. We all have to start somewhere, right??? Good information and hopefully people will take note of the points made in your post.

Glad you took the time out to respond, I try not to complain as there is enough negativity in the media. We are able to blog without scolding others, good luck to you all in 2009.

Happy New Year

It's always good to keep these things in mind.  Personally I think if you just get out there and start blogging you will find your way.  AR is a great place to grow into an amazing blogger.
