Money and Active Rain

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Stone Real Estate Group, LLC

So as you all can see....I am really new to all of this "Social Networking". Why do Active Rain? This is the question I have been asked by many.

I am now asking you, the Active Rain Community.

Why do you do Active Rain? What do you get from it? Have you made any money or leads from this site?

Do you think the site is fun and the points race get you going?

I personally only do things for one of 3 reasons.

1. Education-I love to learn and I think that maybe, just maybe I will get a lot of of meeting new people on here and making connections.

2. Money- I don't work for my heath, as I am sure you all don't either. The jury is still out on if this is all worth my time or not. I sell real estate, not just get to play on the computer. Maybe one day LOL.

3.  Charity-It makes me feel good and is for a good casue. Well I am not sure that this site will fill that one.

So in closing, please respond and let me know what you all think and why you are on here.

I look forward to hearing from you all and figuring this all out.

Take Care, Alisa

Alisha,

I joined Active Rain in April of 2007.  It took a while for me to "find my voice" in Active Rain and that was in Localism.  Marketing is my area of expertise and I write most of my posts about my area and my homes.

And yes, Alisa, there are sales that I can attribute to my blog posts as well as sales made due to increased SEO on my website.  I closed a house on New Year's Eve that was only listed on Active Rain for 1 day when a buyer called one of my agents and asked to see it.  The house was listed, contracted and closed in less than 30 days.  I have a buyer that is being transferred here that will be here on January 9 to make their purchase (we did their house hunting trip a month or so ago and their home sold and now they are going to buy) - this buyer located me though Active Rain's Localism.

And I have so many more stories than that - including an interview and quote in The Wall Street Journal due ot one of my posts.   I try to take the time to write about what AR does for me in a members only post.
