Home Stager with Twiques: The Art of Home Comfort

According to the Colour Marketing Group, the new colour for 2009 is Mimosa!  A bright, zesty, fun colour which inspires confidence and is full of life.  Expect to see this colour paired with white in cushions, candles, throws, and other accessory pieces for the home.  In the summer we may even see the 'little, yellow, polka dot bikini!"

mimosa for 2009I can see this for accessory pieces and splashes of colour.  How do you see this colour?  Do you like it?

I love this color -- actually have a wall painted this color in my family room (I have a red sofa and love - very bright and contemporary!  I love calling it Mimosa . . . I've described it to people as Mango and "the color the road lines are painted" . . . not nearly as lovely sounding as Mimosa!

It definitely reminds me of summer. I think it can work if not over done.

WOW that's bright !

My first thought too was "summer time" - beach towels, outdoor furniture cushions etc.

Hmmm, why is it when I see this new "hot" color all I want to say is "The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round.  The wheels on the bus go round and round...all day long!"

I see where you are coming from Marybeth, I guess it is how you use colour with it that will make the difference.

I have just been doing some research on colour trends for 2009 as well Judith and I have to say every video and website I went to had something different on each one! I think sometimes it is easier to know what is 'not' a trendy colour than to know what is in. I often go by what the retail stores are showing in fashion and then check out the home decor stores. Bottom line for most people for living, is to pick out colours that they love. Colours are so awesome because they are SO personal. Thanks.

I concour with Marybeth..............wheels on the bus go........although to me the school bus usually meant a fieldtrip and no school.  So maybe it would send off great memories to some :)  ??? I would love to see it done somewhere to show off the  refreshing colour that it is (and maybe to change my mind) and the wipers go swish swish swish.................

thank you for the input Dana, colour is very personal and although it does remind me of the Wheels on the Bus Dianne, I do find it a shot of sunshine!
