Happy New Year : What do you want in 2009?

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Select Real Estate

What a year 2008 has been. It seems like it's gone by so fast. I have gotten so much accomplished this year. I have so much to be thankful for and so much to look forward to. So I'm interested in what you have planned for the New Year.

Are you planning a great vacation with the family, one with just your spouse, or do you want a sabbatical. Where would you want to go to get away this year? Is it warm, tropical, cool, or just beautiful.

Do you have something to implement into you business for the New Year? How are you going to set yourself apart from the crowd? What do you think will be your greatest assets for your real estate career in the New Year?

Have you set New Year resolutions for you professionally, personally, or spiritually? Do you want to share those resolutions?

I have one thing that I want more than anything else in the New Year. What is the one thing you wish for most for 2009 to bring to you?

My husband and I are planning a trip to the Poconos for Valentine's Day (weekend) and we are planning to pay early so that our 2 older boys can go to a really nice summer camp this year.  As far as business is concerned, I'm determined to really grow my business this year so I'm really looking forward to implementing my new marketing plan for 2009 and picking up some new clients who can go with me on the journey!

Delaware has an annual $250,000 Raffle tonight. They only sell 100,000 tickets I believe at $10 each. So, my husband and I have our plans all ready to implement and they include:

  1. Take a vacation somewhere warm like Key West or maybe Cancun
  2. Buy a lot on which to build an investment property
  3. Build 6-8 senior housing rental units on property we already own
  4. Pay down on at least one mortgage

It's amazing how much we could accomplish if the stars are shining on us this evening. Would everyone reading this please concentrate!

If we don't win, we'll just keep on keeping on and stick to our marketing plan - Boomers and Beyond at the Beach ... in Delaware.

All right Kathy - here it goes. If I could only have one thing this year - it would have to be that my daughter's tumor doesn't grow. Nothing else matters if I could get that one thing, I would be the happiest mother alive :)

Oh Anita...I'm standing in prayer with you. God is listening.

I feel to share something with you. When my daughter was only 6 months old, I found her one morning unconscious and with her head swollen like a cone. I rushed her to the emergency room and was told that she probably had spinal meningitus. They did a spinal tap and admitted her to the hospital...semi-comatose.

After the first day, they told me that it seemed more likely that she had hydrocephalus...that she may never be normal again...IF she regained consciousness. My heart broke.

At the time, we lived in a very small town...so the doctors had called in specialists from Duke University Medical Center to evaluate her. After six days...and the day before they were scheduled to arrive...I had a spiritual battle in her hospital room. I won't go into the details here, but I KNEW that my daughter's life was NOT in the doctors' hands...but that she was in God's hands.

The next morning...when the specialists arrived...my daughter was sitting up in bed. She was NOT JUST BETTER...she was completely HEALED. The specialists could not believe their eyes. They tested her every way they could...and there was NO SIGN of any disease. She was 100% healed! She is still as healthy as can be, and she just turned 18.

MY GOD did what no doctor could do. He healed my baby girl. In the process, He taught me much about faith and trust.

NOTHING (ABSOLUTELY NOTHING) is impossible with God!!!

Happy New Year, my friend!!! May 2009 be THE YEAR that ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE!! ~GBU~

Anita and Elizabeth,

You are so right. If we have our health we have everything and it's time to kick this market you know where! The phones are ringing again and buyers are beginning to put their big toes out. It's not much but it's a start.

By the way, we didn't win that Delaware Raffle. Oh well. But I spent the day with a new buyer and tomorrow I am taking a new listing. We live to fight another day.
