Want to start off 2009 in one of the best ways I can think of? Then watch this video and let someone know that you appreciate them! This video from the Simple Truths website is a story about John who, based on a talk by Barbara A. Glanz, decides to write a thank you letter to his 8thgrade Literature teacher, years after taking her class. The affect this letter has on the teacher is profound. John indicates that this teacher was everyone's favorite, however, in over 50 years of teaching; she had never received a thank you letter before. The joy she receives from that one letter makes me wish I did this more often. So consider taking 15 minutes today, looking up someone who helped you in life and sending them a note. Somehow these notes always seem to come at an opportune time when someone was feeling down about themselves or struggling with a challenge in life. It will make them (and you) feel great!
If you've ever written or received one of these "gratitude" notes or perhaps made a phone call - comment and let us know. Reading these stories can make your day!
