For a Festival of a GREAT Time - Visit Old Towne Lewisville Saturday, May 5, from 11am to 7pm, for Lewisville's 5th Annual Cinco de Mayo Festival. No entry admission, however, donations are being requested for $1 or canned foods and/or household products for Christian Community Action. Donations collected are in efforts to provide at least two $500 scholarships to Lewisville ISD students of Mexican Heritage. In the past 5 of these scholarships have been awarded during the past three years.
The Event, organized by Dallas Tortilla and Tamale Factory, will include lots of music, food, arts and crafts showing the many facets of Mexican Culture.
What is Cinco de Mayo?
May 5, 1862 in the Battle of Puebla, The Mexican Army defeated a French-commanded army of double their manpower. This was the beginning of the campaign that launched the French out of Mexico, eventually restoring Mexican Independence.
