Post-Holiday Help for Food Banks

By
Real Estate Agent with Prudential Northwest Realty

As many people are aware, there are more people going to food banks for help this winter (and it is a colder winter than we have experienced in more than a decade).  Because of the economy, the local food banks are in need of food so they can help the people who come.  One of the things I have done is to make a donation in lieu of a gift to someone since few of us actually need more things.  Something else that can be done here is to attend the "Empty Bowls" program on 30 January 2009. The program is from 11:30 to 1:30 and from 4:00 until 8:00.

What is the Empty Bowls program you ask?  Upon donating a minimum of $10, you have your selection of lovely handmade bowls made and donated by local potters.  There will be a meal of soup, bread, dessert and beverage included with your donation, and you get to keep your bowl!  It is a worthy cause as all proceeds go to the Highline Food Bank.
