I spent a little time with my family this weekend and had a very good time. We discussed the ups and downs of a career in the real estate world. It was all good.
I have done this business for more years than I care to remember sometimes, 17 or so, but the business has been god to me. As we go forward in to next year we all need to be thinking of a way to find ourselves a niche in this market and remeber that what we do is a service business.
Service is why people hire us and that is the only reason we exist as a needed profession.
We service buyers in selecting a home they can afford, will meet their needs, and a place they can create memories for their families.
We service sellers by helping them price their properties and then marketing those properties to get the most attention to get them the best possible price and terms in any market condition.
To be anle to do those two very simple things we as professional need to stay current with market trends, types of inventory available, and financing options that are available and will work for the buyer.
We have had several good years of just about anybody could get a loan and buy a house. NHow we have to start working and truly need to understand we are a service business.
We must start to offer true service above and beyond the basics.
Keep it positive in 2009
