The long awaited brand new Topsoil High School is finally completed. The school will be open for business on Monday Jan 5, 2009. It is exciting that the new $ 30 million school is ready to go. It is totally updated with technology ready classrooms and labs and is ready for the 1200 students it needs to accommodate. This award winning school sytem is excited to be moving in new directions. The building previously used for the high school is now going to be used as the middle school. This area has really grown and really needs the space to accommodate all the new students in the area. The new school will be a great enhancement for teachers and students alike.

Hi Kathy, sounds like the upgraded high school will bring new opportunities to student and teachers and may increase people coming to the area because of the high school as well....a win-win.  Nice update Kathy...have a Great 2009.

Wilmington must be one of the few rich cities left if you're opening schools instead of closing them. I've always wondered why education is one of the first things to suffer when cities start facing budget deficits. Seems like we could get rid of some overpaid politicians and keep the schools, maybe even paying the teachers better.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life -- make it a good start.

Hi Kathy (Neighbor),
I love Wilmington--in fact, I attended UNCW and lived there a couple of years after I graduated.

Can you imagine the work and co-ordination required to move into a new school during the school year?  Oh my!
