Looking for a good source for expired listing letters. Any ideas?
How about something that comes from the heart? Sincerity will come across and probably a phone call. It is easy to read when something is manufactured as a sales pitch. That's just my 2 cents.
Woody Allen was supposed to have been quoted as saying: "90% of this job is just showing up to do the job."
When one thinks back to where each transaction of business came from, it is apparent there is a great element of truth in that adage. I'm wondering what would be the best thing to say if one were to simply knock on the door of an expired listing? That would certainly prove that you had showed up to do the job, lol.
I launched a blog with tips for sellers (WhyDidntMyHomeSell?) It was easy, free and this month I am launching the campaign with postcards to drive local traffic. We'll see. I think it takes something a little different to attract attention in a market with so many agents targeting these sellers.
Good luck in your campaign. Let me know if you have any questions and welcome to AR. I see this is your first post. Everyone is really helpful and supportive here. The insights and knowledge to be gained here is limitless so try to participate as much as you can. All the best.
Shawn -- You are in the right place -- If you dig around on the blogs or even try the search bar you will find what you are looking for -- best of luck -- JE

It's been a little over a year since this post.
How's the expired listing program coming?
What works for you?
Thanks
Shawn, I'm a long time student of expired listings. I've bought many letters and written dozens myself. After years of reqriting and tweaking I've got it down to 1 page in which I also include a copy of their listing because many people have never seen what theirs looks like.
I mail these with a follow up card a couple of days later and it makes my phone ring.
Send me your postal mailing address if you're interested and I'll send you the follow up card.
You could check this out, it's a free resource for Real Estate Professionals and there are various prospecting letters.
