Please Help Research! What are agents looking in a Real Estate Brokerage?

Ok, activerainers.  This blog is more of a question that I am hoping to get lots of responses to and feedback from...

I was an a recruiter and trainer for large RE/MAX for several years and prior to that owned my own company.  I have been through just about every recruiting "how-to" class out there.  However I feel that things have changed greatly and what agents were looking for in a brokerage has changed from a couple of years ago when all the agents wanted was a nice building to bring their many customers and clients to and a high split.

I am curious if you could have your broker or brokerage offer one or two key things what would that be?  I would like to come up with an updated list of desires that agents have and a how-to for brokerages to attract top agents such as yourself.

If you are a brokerage with a unique position or marketing tool, please share with the rest of us in the comments section.

Thanks in advance for everyones valuable input and Happy Selling in 2009!

My brokerage offers top producers help with marketing and that is so important. Every year we are asked to put together our marketing plan and submit to the managing broker. Usually we include what we will spend and what we would like them to contribute. Knowing that we will bring in sales we don't generally have any problems with office contribution.

Thanks Michelle.  If you don't mind my asking.  How much typically per month is the brokerage willing to contribute?  There are a few offices in our market doing it, but coming from the land of huge offices they don't typically contribute anything but have really high splits.

EXPERIENCE & INTEGRITY - WE TAKE THE HIGH ROAD

We have worked for two other brokerages, and had our own for awhile.  We are experience, and do not need the new agent training or office space as we work out of our home office primarily.  We signed up with the current broker as their commission cut is very reasonable and they have expertise in how to increase our web advertising capability.  Also, they lead or stay out of our way.  Too many brokerages set too many rules and end up helping the brokerage, and not the agents to be successful.

These are just 3 the things my agents tell me are a must - 1) full time receptionist to answer the main line coming into the office - transfer calls to their cell phones 2) calls should go to the listing agent if the call is for their listing, not the up-agent 3) Tech assistance with websites, google rankings, etc.
