Stage Your Closet Space

By
Home Stager with Redesigned Spaces - Northern Virginia

I believe that as stagers we should always recommend to our clients to stage all their spaces, even under the counter spaces and closets.  After all buyers will look there to see if their "stuff" will fit.  Home sellers are selling the total space therefore the total space needs to be staged.

Hello, Sandra!  I've asked my sellers to thin out the closets but staging the closets sounds so much better.  Thanks--your post is short and sweet.

This is a great example how a little effort inside a closet this small can make a huge difference!

Sandra,

So true! I have always recommended to my real estate clients to at least pack away their clothes that are currently out of season. It is amazing the difference it makes.

I agree with you.  This is especially important in older homes that have limited closet space.

It also makes a big difference when it comes to hangers! The thin wire hangers look ugly and don't stage well... use nice wooden hangers when possible (IKEA makes good ones), or matching colored plastic hangers also helps a lot. It is all in the details! Thanks for the post!

Now potential buyers can actually see the amount of space they have for their own clothes.  The messy way would make them feel that the closet is to small and this is why it is such a disaster.  This is a great picture to show clients the difference staging and decluttering can make.

Thanks for sharing.

Sandra you make a great point that the closets and cupboards and all storage space in the house also needs to be Staged. Thanks for reminding us all.

Great job Sandra, good point you make. after all stuffed messy closets send the wrong message to buyers - not enough closet space in this house.  This could be a great add on business/  We stage your closets right or a great ad idea - ?

You have had your home staged but what do your closets say?

Inspiration is certainly a key component in staying in touch, so thank you.

Simplifying and cleaning out closets is basic, but not everyone does it. Your photos show what a difference it makes!

I agree!  I think crammed and disorderly closets can do as much harm as poorly designed rooms.

Looks great!  Love how the use of the baskets draws your eyes up to the space at the top of the closet.
