I just read on CNN that Steven Good, described as a Real Estate mogul, was found dead, sitting in his Jaguar on Monday. They have no idea how long he had been there and it appears that he shot himself.
This man was chairman and chief executive officer of a major real estate auction company, did business with Donald Trump and wrote a book. Everything that I've read about him says good things. The article went on to say that he was a leader, generous and had a very positive attitude.
I know things are tough right now and folks are stressed. I just find it so, so sad when someone thinks there is no other way out other than to commit suicide.
My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Good's family, friends and business associates.
Sad, sad indeed. In all likelihood it had nothing to do with the real estate recession.
That was my thought, too, Lenn. Especially after reading what others had to say about him.
I just don't think there are issues deep enough to provoke a well person into taking their own life. As my husband says "any day above ground is a good day".
We saw this first thing this morning on CNN. It is heartbreaking and hard to understand. Our thoughts are with his family.
Hi Nancy, I have been so crazy busy that I missed the broadcast...usually there are underlying issues but that doesn't mean the families suffering is any easier.
The departure of Steven's father from the business in 2005 along with the diversification of the company into hedge funds and lending to buyers and sellers may have contributed to his worries. I wish I could have told him that no matter what happened he could start over. My concerns are for his boys. My prays are with his father, wife and children. Many people will be facing challenges in the coming years that they will not think they will survive. I hope this tradegy will help us see there is another way.
So sad, we all need to continue to uplift eachother through these tough times. No doubt his family will need our prayers.
I wonder if he got caught up in the ponzi scheme with so many other powerful people and lost everything. Sad though that someone that was such a real estate power house with great information had to leave us.
