Getting what you pay for

Services for Real Estate Pros with Mobile Notary Services

I have a RESPA signing this evening at 6:30 (point A).

FedEx Center - Colorado SpringsThere aren't that many pages to sign, so it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes.  That would allow me enough time to drive to the FedEx Center in the north end of town (point B) and deliver the documents.  This way they would go out tonight and arrive at their destination tomorrow.

Yes, it's out of my way.  I live in the south part of Colorado Springs.

Companies are usually thankful that I go out of my way to provide that extra service.  That's one of the reasons that they are willing to pay the fees that I request.

Will I do that tonight?  No.

The reason I won't go out of my way is because the company won't meet my normal fee.  Moreover, they deliberately try to pay as low as they can.  But I agreed to do it anyway.

I will do a good job, as I always try to do.  I will do everything that is required.  But I won't go out of my way, and I won't add any extras.  I will still deliver the documents to FedEx Kinkos this evening -- which is in the south part of town.  But they won't go out tonight.  They will go out tomorrow.

My thinking about this is very simple:

'You get what you pay for.'
