Rediscovering Free Entertainment - Hawaii on a Budget

Magic Sands Beach

As I drove by this beach that is less than two tenths of a mile from my home I realized that FREE is AWESOME! Photo snapped from my blackberry phone camera a few days ago.

I need to skip the video store and go to the public library for a good book, skip the lunch at a restaurant and take my sack lunch to the beach, skip the happy hour and go home to play a game with my wife while enjoying a nice glass of wine together on our Lanai.

Hawaii offers so much to do that is free, why not reinvent our lives to enjoy free again. It's easy to fall into consumerism and pay, pay, pay to be entertained. But our wonderful community invites us to enjoy nature and community resources absolutely FREE.

I'm in for FREE! I've gone cheap crazy!

Hey Ken

I just spent the evening watching the sunset at Honls Beach, couple of beers with some close friends, kids playing  in the surf - it is all about taking a moment to stop and smell the roses, or in our case - stop and watch the sunset over the pacific ocean.  It was just awesome, and I couldnt believe how many tourists sat there and clapped when the green flash  happened. How lucky we are. And your right - its all free for the taking - thank you God.

Hope you have a great year Ken

Aloha

Lance,

Thanks for your comment. I am so glad that in spite of this very tough economy we can stop and smell the roses. It does require our pause and our participation to enjoy. I am glad you feel the same way...Hawaii is a gift to our lives.

I hope this year is a fantastic one for you as well filled with renewed prosperity in family friends and finances!

Warmest Aloha & Mahalo Nui,

Ken Anderson
