What You Need To Know About SEO and Active Rain Outside Paid Version Blogs.

I'm sorry to be so dense. I clicked to Yorgen's post (and I've been reading other posts about the outside paid versions) and I still don't see the additional SEO. Am I missing something? (it's probably right in front of my face and I'm not seeing it) I clicked from Yorgen's post to his blog and no Google PR, it hasn't been crawled and no back links. Right now, when I post something on AR I show up on Google within hours. (and that's not the free outside blog- I had problems setting it up initially and haven't been back yet- that's with an old fashioned AR post)

Do you need the paid for blog to be able to post to localism?

Thanks for all of the information. I am trying to get this all figured out and I have to do it one step at a time. I need to check on the outside blogs. I am also needing to figure out the keywords, etc...

I am a chemist by training and believe you are right on!  Data can be skewed to prove just about anything.   Hummm....   I'm even wondering how that darned energy crisis that caused $5/gallon gas disappeared in just a week???  I bought gas this week for $1.75/gal.

Money and power are driving most decisions, politics, etc.

Don't mean to be a pest, but can someone answer my question about the additional SEO on the pay for blogs? I'm considering purchasing, but like to get my facts before I spend $240/year for something. What are the differences in SEO for the pay blog and the free blog?

They also made some other changes as they rolled out the new outside blog.

1. You can't go back to edit comments, and see if the notification box is checked yet.

2. Back links on Yahoo started falling off and continue to fall off of the free blog. I think they changed the back link comment not to follow to the commenter. The existing blogs will lose a lot of juice. I have email them on this and am awaiting their answer. I am sure this was done.

I check back links on my sites every day, my activerain page has lost over 10% of it back links in a week.

3. By removing the comments follow the juice will re assigned in the algorithm.

Thanks. I guess I'll just wait for awhile until I can find the differences bewteen the free blog, the member blog and the pay blog. I understand they can't give out their secrets, but I just want to know what additionalSEO benefits I get for $20/month.

Thanks for the invite to your webinar- I might take you up on that when things slow down. I get good results now from my web site. I just haven't made the time to blog regularly, but when I do say post a listing on my original AR member blog, it shows up on page one of Google for the terms I optimize for- terms I've checked with Googles key word analyzer.

But I want to thank you for trying to answer my question. I'm sure someone who works for AR will post something soon detailing the differences.

You can track the link backs on yahoo site explorer, clearly if you check notification we were getting link from the post back to your clog which is the very bottom line of the comment when it prints.

Since last week they are fading and the comment box is  frozen to only delete not edit. It works the same as if you were leaving a comment on someone else blog on another site that accepted your web site address. I find them on yahoo explorer all the time.

Activerain had it automatic, meaning you didn't have to write in your site link, a matter of fax there is no where to write it in.
