Was your real estate career dragging in 2008? Follow these 9 steps for success in 2009
1. Yes - it is all about your attitude - Remember - life is a self fulfilling prophesy. Your attitude does predict your future. So have a great attitude - you WILL be fine in 2009!
2. Find your niche - why do you need to be all things to everyone? Be the best in your chosen area. You might choose to specialize in senior home sales, baby boomers, or maybe first time homebuyers. Have you thought about Condo or townhome sales? REO, foreclosure, auction properties? What about green building and its promotion? Maybe your prefer investment properties and working with investors? How about global real estate?
3. Get a plan - develop a business plan that works and follow it!
4. Network, network, network - Make time to go to new events and meet professionals as well as former and current clients. Make a list of builders, bankers, Realtors, who support you - build a win - win relationship with them. Attend functions NAR, Family Reunion, etc. Contact developers in your area and develop a marketing direction for them and with them. Be a Resource for others - news media, TV, radio.
5. Teamwork is really all you need - Develop a team and focus on making it work 100%
6. 911 - I'm not so "techie" - now is the time to increase and improve your technology skills. If you still use a notepad - help!! Have you thought about -Video email, Video on demand - You Tube, Video on your website, Broadcast emails??
7. Creative is and Creative does - Now is the time to think out of the box! What about speaking at a seminar, business meeting or association meeting? Get on the radio - talk show or commercials - vendor paid. Have you tried a client appreciation party? What about a bookclub for your sphere?
8. Be professional - Consumers are ready for and need professional Realtors that not only look the part but are knowledgeable.
9. Back to the future - invest for your future - Can you ever retire?? Are you saving enough money (how about saving any money?) More than ever we need to think about our future and plan ahead.
