It's no secret that things have been a bit slow in the real estate market as of late. And while we haven't seen things as bad here as in other parts of the country, we have had our own down time. Couple that with the recent addition to my family (check out what I have to be most thankful for) and you'll understand that I've been out of the "game" lately. Luckily I have a fantastic team. They handle the day to day business - showing property and the like and I'm able to work from home. I maintain our website, blog and handle other aspects of our marketing. I am also able to bring my daughter into the office with me when I go in. I don't however, take Avery out on showings - I don't think it's fair to keep her cooped up in her car seat all day. So, I don't have the opportunity to show property that much any more. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make, but I do miss it. I miss building a rapport with clients. I miss driving around, seeing my beautiful community. I miss seeing houses. I had almost forgotten just how much!
I went on a showing appointment yesterday. I have to tell you, that although it was strange being away from my daughter all day (I had my husband stay home with her) is was exhilarating going on a showing. Our client is a repeat client. We've sold her a vacation home and sold property for her. She is now moving up here full time and wants a home in the beautiful town of Poulsbo. I had so much fun. It is an amazing thing when you love your job. It makes work, well, not work at all. We toured 5 homes. Found one she likes and we'll go forward from here.
It was great getting back in the saddle again. I had almost forgotten how much I truly love this business!
