It was a beautiful day in Legacy of Leesburg. Every second and fourth weekend from 11-4 the community conducts an Open House of all FSBO's and and listings that Realtors host. Today saw a small turnout but it gave me time to really "live" in the home. It was a new Huntley Model built by Pringle Development which an investor is wishing to unload. The price is down $89,000!!!! It sits on a lovely small pond with conservation land beyond. I opened the sliding doors in the Great Room and situated myself with a good book on the screened lanai overlooking the waterview and nature. It was heavenly peaceful with a cool breeze blowing! First the gray herons walked by with their babies then a flock of sea gulls descended on the neighbors bread offering. Movement in the water caught my eye! Even though he was small, it was a surprise to see a small alligator peeking his nose above water on the far side of the pond. (Okay - I can hear you now!) Alligators mind their own business as long as I mind mine!
Sitting in the home most of the day gave me a good idea of what it would be like to live there. The Breakfast Nook has bay windows and is set off with columes and has a beautiful view of that pond and the nature activity. I could imagine the sun coming up over that conservation area and the pond and what the nature must be like in the morning! While sitting there looking back into the Great Room, I had it repainted and decorated in less than an hour, right down to window treatment! The Master Bedroom has sliders to the screened lanai as well and I had the thought of cracking those doors at night and enjoying the sounds of nature and the fresh air to sleep by! That thought had the home sold!!!! The home also sits on a quiet cul-de-sac so there was very little road noise! I could see one of the walking trails from the lanai and watched several residents riding bikes with their grandkids. The neighbor had a teenage granddaughter visiting and I watched her taking pictures of the nature and flowers. That really sent me back in time!!! Thirty-nine years ago I moved from Central Illinois to live with my grandparents in a retirement community while I attended vocational school. I knew just how that young girl felt in that wonderful Florida sun!
So - the next time I show this home to a potential buyer, I plan to tell them of the day I "lived" in the home and enjoyed the nature in the backyard!!
