January 13th
Meeting
The People's Archaeological Society meeting will be held at the Delaware Archaeology Museum, 316 S. Governors Avenue, Dover on Tuesday, January 13th starting at 6 p.m. Public is welcome.
January 14th and 21st
Square Dance Lessons
The Milford Senior Center, 111 Park Avenue, Milford, will offer square dance lessons beginning on January 14th from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Singles are welcome. The lessons will be taught by the Whirl-a-ways of Georgetown. The first two lessons are free, January 14th and January 21st, after that cost is $5 a class. Training Session
Read Aloud Delaware will hold a volunteer training session at 10 a.m. in the conference room of the Delaware Natioinal Bank, Rt. 1, Rehoboth Beach. For more information 856-2527.

Dinner/Comedy Show/Dance
The Christiana Fire Company and Headline Entertainment is hosting a dinner, comedy show and dance on January 16th from 6:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Tickets are $35 per person or $60 per couple. For more information on tickets call 302-731-0237.

Fish Fry
The Blue Hen VFW Post 6483 will hold their monthly fish fry on Saturday, January 17th from 1 to 5 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults, children 5-10 is $4 and children ages 2-4 are $2. For more information call 422-4412.
Janaury 17th
Black and White Gala
The 3rd annual Bayhealth Black and White Gala will be held on January 17th from 6 to 11 p.m. at Dover Downs Hotel and Conference Center. Tickets are $100 and may be purchased at the gift shops of Kent General and Milford Memorial Hospital. For more information call 422-7032, 363-5835.

Spaghetti Dinner
There will be a spaghetti dinner in the Bowers Fire Hall on Saturday, January 17th from 3 to 7 p.m. Adults, $8, children 4-12, $5, under 4 eat free. Proceeds benefits the Bowers Fire Hall Anniversary committee. For mroe information call 335-4290.

The Elves and the Shoemaker
The Second Street Players presents Grimm's Fairy Tale classic "The Elves and the Shoemaker on Saturday, January 17th at 1 p.m. at the Second Street Players Riverfront Theatre, 2 S. Walnut Street, Milford. Tickets are $8 for general admission. For more information call 422-0220.

Family Workshop
Come learn about animals in the winter. Discover how different aniamls use adaptions, migration and hibernation to survive through the winter at the Salisbury Zoo. Skating Party
New Lungs for Chuck Skating Party to benefit the NTAF Mid Atlantic Lung Transplant Fund in honor of Chuck Campbell will be held on Sunday, January 18th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Milford Skating Center, 1 Park Aenue, Milford. Pancake Breakfast
The Ladies Auxiliary of Houston Fire Company will sponsor a pancake breakfast at the fire house from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Cost is $6 per person. FOr more information call 422-6055.
January 27th
Relay for Life Kickoff Event
The 2009 Relay for Life Kickoff Event will take place on Tuesday, January 27th starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Milford Elks Lodge, Elks Lodge Road. All team captains and co-captains are encouraged to attend and anyone else who is interested in participating in Relay for Life Milford 2009 held June 19th and 20th at the Milford Middle School grounds.

Read ot the Dogs
Children grades in 1st through 4th grade will have a chance to read to the dogs at 6:30 p.m. at the Harrington Public Library. After introducing their dogs and explaining what they do, they will have an opportunity to read to them. Petting of the dogs is permitted. More information call 398-4647.
January 31st
Evening of Friendship
The Milford Rotary club will sponsor an evening of friendship from 7-10 p.m. on January 31st at Shawnee Country Club, Milford. Food, entertainment and door prizes will be featured. Proceeds will benefit the Arts and Sciences programs in the Milford School District.
February 1st
Sub/Chili Sale
Superbowl Sunday there will be a sub/chili sale at the bowers Fire Company from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 12 inch Italian, Turkey, Ham and Cheese sub, $6, quart of chili, $5 each. Delivery available for orders $30 or more. For more information call 335-4290.

Pampered Chef Bingo
A Pampered Chef Bingo will be held at the Ellendale Fire Hall on February 12th with doors opening at 6 p.m., games start at 7 p.m. Cost is $20 in advance or $25 at the door. For more information call 422-6444.

Vera Bradley/Longaberger Basket Bingo
There will be a Vera Bradley/Longaberger Basket Bingo on February 19th at the Elks Lodge, Milford. Tickets are $20 in advance. Proceeds will benefit the MHS Band trip to Florida in March.
February 22nd
Pampered Chef Bingo
The Memorial Vol. Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor a pampered chef bingo on February 22nd in the Ellendale Vol. Fire Hall. Advance tickets are $15, $20 at the door. Doors open at 1 p.m. games start at 2 p.m. Raffles, door prizes, refreshments. Call 422-2418 for more information.
