Showhomes Announces it Will Not Participate in Economic Downturn

Home staging company helps many in down market

Showhomes, a Nashville based home staging company with 42 franchise locations, announced today that it will not participate in the economic downturn sweeping the nation.

Vice President of Operations Thomas Scott had this to offer: “We refuse to jump on the economic downturn bandwagon. Our service has excellent fundamentals and provides great value to homeowners trying to sell vacant homes. Our staged homes are selling at near-boom levels.”

Excellent fundamentals and a market-defying track record of home sales results are attracting lots of attention in the slumping real estate market. Showhomes is one of the few companies helping Realtors successfully sell homes in the real estate industry. The Boston Globe recently reported Showhomes “has hit a sweet spot if there ever was one.”

Showhomes, a pioneer in the home staging industry and America’s largest home staging company, has been offering a unique housing solution: the company finds people to live in vacant mansions so that they show better and sell faster. Given the declining real estate market, mansions and just about every other type of home is difficult to sell.  This unique service is in demand by banks with large inventories of foreclosures and private homeowners desperately trying to sell vacant homes.

“We have posted double digit revenue increases for the past five years and 2008 is our biggest year to date,” reported Matt Kelton, Showhomes Chief Operating Officer. Showhomes beat its expansion goal of opening 12 additional franchised units this year and opened 24. The franchised company expects to open 40 new units in 2009.

“Based on our success and the success our customers are experiencing defying the recession, we decided we are not going to participate in the economic downturn. We are happy to be the ray of shining light in the housing market,” said Kelton.

The nationally franchised company with 42 locations in 23 states recruits individuals and families with great furniture to help stage vacant homes. The home owner gets a fully staged home at a fraction of the price and the Home Manager gets an amazing address for a fraction of what it would normally cost in exchange for keeping it tidy and in show condition.

Using Home Managers to stage a home this year is producing results – homes staged by Showhomes are beating local market conditions by as much as 50% in most markets. Thomas Scott had this to offer: “Our homes are selling because they look so great and show so well. Why sell a home vacant when you could use Showhomes?”
