POP-BY/ Client gift idea that could support your local charity

My son's 6th Grade class is doing a cookbook fundraiser to help with their 8th grade trip.  I purchased 15 of these at $10. a piece which is high for a pop-by but since I have not done them for a while...I think it is reasonable.  (Actually they were supposed to be Holiday Gifts for my clients but I did not get around to it).

The cookbooks are a great idea.  All of the recipes are provided by parents & children in the area so as I am handing these out I hope they will also create a buzz about me.  These are definitely something that people will hold onto and use as well.  I know that I have impressed the woman who runs this fundraiser so I will be adding her to my CAP program as well.

I know that everyone does not have these available so my point is to reach out to your local schools, sporting organizations, and charity organizations to see what they are doing as far as fundraisers right now.  They could use your support, clients will appreciate it, and you may also get a tax right off (just an added bonus).

My wife is a teacher at a local elementary school. I'll check to see if they are doing anything like this. Thanks for the great idea!

Great idea....I once sponsored a cookbook. I put a coupon page in the back and donated $5 for everyone who mailed it to me. I ended up donating $350 and got lots of goodwill.

Kathleen, This reminds me of when my children were young.  Candy bars, Girl Scout cookies, and more, oh my!  Those were wonderful days!  Enjoy them, they do go by too fast!  Nice to see that you out and about with your popbys!

That is a really creative idea and it is going toward a good and useful purpose at the same time. Plus the gift is unique and you can be sure your clients will hold on to it and remember who it came from. Great idea. Good luck with it.

Well...so far I have delivered 7 of these cookbooks to my past clients and they loved them!!! I did make a page to go in the front that explained that this is a fundraiser item that I have purchsed for my best clients, on that page is a picture of my business card (photo & all).  I can tell that these will be around in people's kitchens for a long time.

7 pop-bys down...28 to go...YIKES!!! My 7 Businesses will be getting a budget book or something from Staples (or Sams) and my other pop-bys will be a pack of 5 highlighter pens that I got for $1 per pack with a note..."Working with you, and your referrals, is the Highlight of my Real Estate career!"  I have a much harder time popping by with something this small.

I will be done Blitzing by Wednesday...no excuses!

Hi Kathy.  I was just reading some of your blogs about Buffini and pop-bys. Are they getting any easier for you?  It does take time and planning but don't you feel great when you do them?  Keep up the great work!

I did feel good after doing the 35 pop-bys but I have not done one since.  I am going to be doing them quarterly...it is just more comfortable to me that way.

Thanks for reading my posts.
