I literally just got home, turned my computer on. I couldn’t wait to share this with all of you.
I just watched Beyond the Secret… a one-night event broadcasted in 440 select movie theatres in 46 states today, Thursday, January 15th. It was supposed to be hosted by Larry King, but it was actually hosted by Leeza Gibbons.
I think everyone worldwide has been exposed to The Secret and the Beyond The Secret panel was a follow up to the highly praised film and best selling book by Rhonda Byrne. Amongst the panelists were my adored Bob Proctor, Marcia Weider, Christian Simpson, Les Brown (whom I felt was talking to me directly), Mark Moffit, Steve Siebold, Paul Martinelli, Mary Manin Morrisey, and the organizer Holli Walker. They were discussing how to “make The Secret work for us” in today’s world and economy, all in front of a live audience.
I could have endless posts about all the information I learned in the two-hour panel, but I want to highlight what I learned and what really inspired me and I hope it offers value and meaning to you, while we all patiently wait for the Beyond the Secret DVD, which is expected to be released in April, 2009.
1- The Law of Attraction is just one of the many laws that rule the universe and designed by a higher power.
2- We need people in our lives that can see in us what we can’t see in ourselves.
3- Teach children their potential at a very young age
4- Charge your thoughts with positive energy.
5- There is no better time than NOW. It’s a tragedy to live our lives in autopilot.
6- You can make up your dreams, and then follow them.
7- Find the COURAGE and CLARITY to do what MATTERS to you and TAKE ACTION over and over.
8- Dream a dream, not a fantasy
9- Detoxify your relationships. Who’s the matter with me?
10- To defy an unwanted situation, we need preparation: a game plan.
11- Be crystal-clear about your dream: have a vision board, write it down, think it, and imagine it.
12- Be exposed to world-class thinkers.
13- Learn continually.
14- After awareness comes integrity. Don’t sabotage your dreams.
15- To achieve a dream, we need to take risks; to take risks, we need to trust ourselves.
16- Hold your head up
17- Do what brings you joy every day.
18- For a better world, take control of yourself and believe in the ripple effect.
19- If you don’t move on, life will move on ON you.
20- Be bigger, better and different.
How is this relevant to Active Rain?
Mary Manin Morrisey left with an analogy of the flu season. She said get a virus detector and virus protection and you won’t get the flu.
Other panelists spoke about:
1- Placing yourself in an environment that is conducive to your growth. (Thank you AR)
2- Programming your mind – taking time to feed your mind with positive thoughts.
3- Reading 10-15 pages of inspirational, positive content (See my good friend Gary Woltal )
4- Review your goals each day, plan actions and prioritize.
5- Take action, take action, and take action. How bad do you want it and what will you do to get it?
Like I said, I just loved Les Brown’s interventions. We were applauding through them at the movie theater as if we were part of the live audience. When he was talking about detoxifying our relationships, he said some people could “walk into a dark room and start developing”. We need to “gently” avoid those people that laugh at our dream or simply crush our dream with their negativism. It made me think of my need to seek an environment that edify us, with people that want to edify and allow to be edified…then, “Expect great things”.
I could go on forever, they talked about politics, health, faith…you name it. But I will with the morale I got form this whole thing in my own words:
Great things are happening, but someone is making them happen. Let’s be that someone. We have the potential. We have the tools. We have the power: will power. Let’s develop the attitude and take the action, let’s keep each other accountable, let’s give…and we will be blessed abundantly.
We have Active Rain...we can do it!
Hope you enjoyed my post. Have a powerful day!
