This is the start of my video blog. I'm excited about testing out this format. I work with a lot of buyers, especially from out of town. We spend a lot of time talking in the car in between houses. I answer questions and also play a little tour guide.
So I figured that it might be neat to get some of that on video and share it with the world. I was planning to do a series about various real estate topics. I had written out scripts and even built a home made teleprompter to help in my delivery. I did a few and just thought that they were pretty boring and not very alive.
I stumbled upon Ian Watt's video blog last week and immediately recognized that he had a winning format for a real estate video blog. So I rigged a camera on a tripod in my SUV and started messing around.
Along with me doing short 3-5 minutes educational segments, I'm going to do: neigborhood video drive throughs, interviews of specific experts from my passenger seat, real time commuting to get a taste of the traffic, and maybe even some real buyers as we go house hunting.
It won't be perfect. I'm not the greatest contemporaneous speaker but what you see is what you get. Instead of pretty postcard pictures, I'll give you a look at what everyday Atlanta is like. You'll also get to know me much better. I don't think there is a better medium than video to quickly get across one's personality. I think that's what blogging is all about. At least that's a big part of what a social networking blog is about.
