HAPPY NEW YEAR! It is that time again. It rolls around the first of January of every new year. It is the time when many of us resolve to make changes--big and small--in our lives. I would like to take this public opportunity to scream that I hate New Year's Resolutions. Who keeps them, anyway?? And is there some super resolution counter out there that checks up on us weak mortals?? My only resolution is that I resolve not to make any!

Instead, I would like to not just look ahead, but reflect on the past year--the good and the bad--and be thankful for the lessons I have learned these past twelve months.

Thank you to Val, for teaching me that it takes only a chance meeting to learn that a friendship can happen instantly.

Thank you to "Mr. LeBouf" for teaching me to trust, trust, trust.

Thank you to those three wonderful women at Prospector's Nursery that taught me that you can teach an old dog new tricks.

Thank you to Stu and Sherrie for teaching me about the thrill of new ownership. Your smiles said it all.

Thank you to Karen and Bill for teaching me that getting caught in rapids can lead to a very cold bath.

Thank you to my Mother's doctor who taught me that patience is NOT a virtue, but a necessity when dealing with the very elderly.

Thank you to Tom for teaching me to just jump in and help a stranger in dire circumstances.

Thank you to my husband for teaching me to keep trying new things. You are truly an inspiration to me.

And, last but not least, thank you to my precious granddaughters. You are, always have been, and always will be the frosting on the cake!! You have taught me that is is perfectly acceptable to be just who you are.

I look forward to more life lessons in 2009 and hope that all of you have many joyful moments in the year to come.
