Today was another beautiful Fallbrook / Bonsall day and I couldn't stand the thought of staying inside. We headed out around 11:00am with no destination decided.
We rolled down the window and opened the sunroof and off we went. As we headed down the road we saw the following sign and knew where we were going to go.
We pulled into the parking lot of the new Bonsall Elementary School and could smell the fresh bread! We decided that we would walk up and down all the rows and then come back by the booths that we wanted to buy something from.
The top favorites of the day were...
- Nutella crepes. They had many other choices like breakfast crepes, but I guess we're minimalists in my family because we all opted for the original Nutella ones!
- Fresh baked bread. Need I say more?
- Straight from the garden asparagus and artichokes
- Homemade pita bread and hummus
- Gourmet chips and salsa
- $1 old fashion hot dogs
- organic meat or vegetarian tacos
- a wide variety of jerky's
- sweet smelling lotions, potions and soaps (okay maybe there were no potions)
- various homemade crafts, sewing projects and more vegetables fresh from local farmers
The best part of all is that the farmers market benefits our local schools. Not only can you get a really good price on some really great stuff, it helps the community!
The Bonsall Farmers Market is open on Sundays from 9:30-1:30 in the lower parking lot of the new school. More info. can be found at http://www.bonsallschools.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=54&Itemid=13
Just another reason I love living here!
