Affinity Group Marketing

By

So many Realtors beat the same bushes in their quest for new business.  "Farm" marketing, where the people receive anywhere from 2-10 letters from local Realtors.  FSBO's, that passing fad of most Realtors until they feel it's "too hard" to make a connection.  Massive newspaper advertising campaigns, bombarding the public with "we are the best" ads designed to differentiate one company and/or agent from another.  Lots of money spent with decent to questionable return.  Over time it pays off, but how much time?

Have you considered other areas to market to; areas that do not experience a ton of contacts?  I'm talking about affinity marketing, aligning yourself with and individual, group of individuals or trade groups who recommend you and your services to their already captured clients.

Consider the possibilities:  Financial Planners, Bankruptcy and Divorce Attorneys, Networking Groups, Corporations, Trade Groups...the potential groups are endless.

Some financial planners only work with affluent clients.  Can you imagine getting referrals from this person?  This will translate into larger sales prices and more commission for you!

Bankruptcy and divorce attorneys are always involved with clients who ultimately sell their homes.  Wouldn't it be great if you were the agent of choice for these people.

Networking groups are springing up all over the place.  The goal is that each member of the group recommends other group members for their respective services.  Are you currently taking advantage of this opportunity?  I personally know a title agent who, since joining a networking group, has received in excess of 50 title applications directly from referrals from his group members.

Corporations are constantly moving their employees around.  Although many of the larger corporations contract with nationwide companies, there is a surprising amount of business available if you would only look!

Think of joining the builders association in your area.  This will give you a great opportunity to network with builders in a more casual atmosphere.

What hobbies or interests do you have?  Chances are there is some sort of group, organization or association that you could join to network and make contacts.

Sit down and brainstorm a little bit.  By simply taking the initiative to invest a little time in your business, the financial rewards could take you to the next step in your career.

Just thought you should know.

Have a profitable day!
