Good luck to our new President Obama - he is going to need it

Real Estate Agent with Sand Dollar Realty Group, Inc. BK627826

Today is a fantastic day!  Whether you like the guy's politics or not, President Barack Obama is in a monumental position today.  Being the first minority President of the United States is a big achievement with some very big shoes to fill.  He has an awful lot on his plate right now, and I could not even fathom being in his position right now.  Even FDR facing the Great Depression did not have 2 wars going on at the very time he was entering his first term of office.  (Heaven forbid that this economy gets as bad as the Great Depression ever did.) Obama definitely has some tough challenges ahead of him.

I do wish the new President the best of luck.  For the sake of the long-term survival and strength of our country, we all need to be supporting him.  Hopefully he can truly make some "change" for the good and get this country back on the right track towards peace and prosperity.

Hi Rob,

I just wrote a blog on Barack Obama also!  Hopefully the Senate & House of Reps will jump on the bandwagon and do the right thing for our country and not just "big business" politics as usual......  Let's get our world respect back!   Good Luck Obama!!

It's a big task and there is no quick fix.  ALL three branch of the government need to work together and do hope that will happen.

Greetings from snowy Michigan!

A monumental day, indeed. There is a great sense of hope among so many people, here. It is good to see. It was an incredible morning. President Obama's sense of purpose seems to really radiate to others, which is great. I am keeping my eyes wide open to what will take place over the next few months. What an exciting time~

Rob - with Pelosi and Reid in charge of congress, he will need luck, and the country more so. Before the economy gets as bad as the great depression, it has to get as bad as it was under Carter, unemployment, interest rates, inflation, etc are still along way from where they were in 1979-1980.

We all wish him well, he has to undo 8 years of failed administration  policy.  Don't look for 100% cooperation amongst the populace. there are many out there who are wishing him nothing but bad luck and failure.

To slightly paraphrase another:

Did I vote for this guy? No.

Do I want him to be the best president this country has ever had? Absolutely; but that's according to my definition of what "the best" would entail, not Bill Ayers'.

I want a president who promotes self reliance, who honors the concept of the individual, who brings us more economic liberty, who recognizes the danger of big government, who will fight for the right to life of the unborn as well as all other innocent people, who will take ethical, moral, principled stands not based on polls or junk science and follow through with those commitments, and who will be an inspiration to millions of people who, before today, thought that their future was out of their hands.  As some say; "People in hell want ice water." But we'll see.
