In My Daughters Eyes - Martina McBride
I was driving home from an exhausting and stressing day of hard but rewarding work.
You know how you just drive and can't think of anything but "I gotta get to my destination".
I usually play audio books on my car's MP3 player, but I wasn't even in the mood for that.
The song that played in the radio just took my breath away and brought tears of joy to
my face:
In My Daughters Eyes - Martina McBride
In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes
And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about
It's hangin' on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes
I had never heard this song before. I don't know much about country music. It's funny how I realize how many country music songs I like. Gary Woltal just posted "I hope you dance" on one of his always inspiring posts. I absolutely love that song and the message so uplifting. Who would have thought that like the Osmonds "I'm a little bit country" and "a little bit rock'n'roll"
Isn't it amazing that for every moment, situation of feeling, there is a song that can just express the words that we don't dare or are scared to say...and topped with an amazing melody! This song describes exactly how I feel about being a mom to each of my daughters. How powerful love is that no matter how different we are, we all feel it in the exact same way and we can be united in thought and feeling by a song. That is why I wanted to share this song with all Active Rain moms who love their daughters and sons like I love my two miracles.
Song dedicated to: Elisha Freitas, 6 and Elyssa Freitas, 5
Hope you enjoyed my post. Have a powerful day!
