I love this picture! You captured a moment in time for sure Carol and my mind is wandering right now :)
Carol: Great picture. And... it is not a few minutes late. The time submitted shows 11:23 pm... so, silly woman, you had all of 37 minutes to spare. By the way... I tried to call you this morning, several times, but maybe the ringer was turned off. You even picked up the phone once... said three words softly like the phone was not right by your mouth, and then hung up. I tried again, and no answer. Hope you are ok. Take care...
There seem to be so many great things in and around Graham to take pictures of. Glad you are having fun taking them. :)
Sally - This is actually part of a compound where historic reenactments are done. Some of the buildings were original to the site, and some were carefully relocated there and lovingly restored. I can't wait till spring when the outdoor theater starts.
Karen Anne - North Carolina is certainly rich in photographic opportunities, that's a given. Saw you called, but you left no message. Was in a class.
Charles - Actually it's already been fixed up. LOL
Debbie - I think all parts of the country have things to see, we just don't look for them like we should. Glad you like the photo. Thanks.
Cynthia - I'm not sure if there is or not. I'm still feeling my way around the area. :) This is actually on the grounds of an outdoor theater that does historic reenactments and teaching living history. I like the past - it reminds us of how far we have come. It's a shame we (collectively) abandoned much of the values of yesteryear.
Carol, I was so glad you told what this was....it's a gorgeous photo but I always want to hear more...or it leaves me guessing. Thank you for the photo and the explanation.
Hi Carol... now this picture says "rustic" with a capital "R" to me! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Carol, great feel to this shot! I'll bet this a wonderful place to visit, and very interesting as well.
Debi
Carole - If you ever get the chance to come this way on vacation I would love to show you around. But in return I would ask you to be my tour guide if I make it to NYC! :)
Steve - It is certainly rustic! That's for sure.
Debi - I walked past this cabin and stopped in my tracks. It spoke to me. In my mind I was hearing stories of hardship mixed with a simpler life. Thanks for your kind comment.
Danny - I am an explorer by nature. I have wound up in some of the mos obscure places you can imagine. LOL Come over the mountains sometime - I'll show you some incredible scenery along othe backroads of central North Carolina.
Carol: Yeah... I know what you mean. There are places... sorta like Toledo (LOL) that can be pretty obscure. The last time I was there... ummm... was in 1965 on my way going back home to Cleveland... when I (we) eloped to drive to Detroit to get married. Now... what a trip that was... !
Carol - That's a wonderful photograph. Such great compostion, lighting and texture. You've done well! As a former photography teacher, I give you an A+
Karen Anne - Sometimes we ALL find obscure places. LOL :)
Craig - Thanks! I take that as a true compliment!
