Hey everyone... I may have posted in here before, but if not, my name is Dominique... I'm a Lieutenant Junior Grade in the Navy, stationed in Everett, WA. I've been in the Navy since 1997, and look forward to many more years of service...
In my spare time (what little I have) I developed a website that may help you guys out when working with military members that are relocating, and I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before in this group, but I am offering free memberships on my website for any activerain member that is interested in trying something new... The website is http://www.OpenHouseBroadcast.com and it's designed to allow you to host open houses and home tours over the internet rather than in person...
What you need to host a broadcast is just a laptop, webcam, and a wireless internet connection. With these, you can give home tours to any servicemember living anywhere in the world, without them having to spend their limited dollars flying out to tour houses with you.
If you are interested in trying it out, keep in mind it is completely FREE... I'm not charging activerain members to use my site at all... Also, if you'd like to see an example of a recently conducted open house broadcast, check the video posted below. Keep in mind, however, that this is an open house rather than a home tour. There are other people in the house during this broadcast (actually a LOT of people), and having lots of people present can add to the background noise... This video is a recording of a real-time video stream that was conducted just last weekend. There were 17 people "attending" the broadcast... The videos are recorded and saved to our servers so that they can be viewed after the open house has ended 24 hours a day, 7 days a week... Let me know what you guys think!!
