Blackstone Valley Real Estate Market Report - 2008

The Blackstone Valley is located in Worcester County Ma and made up of 13 towns and cities in Massachusetts in the Blackstone River valley corridor

Real estate sales continued to decline with homes and condos falling and the average sales prices continuing downward.   Blackstone Valley, like much of Worcester County, experienced a sharp decline of 14.5% in single family homes average sales prices.  The average dropped from $299,755 in 2007 to $256,420 in 2008.  Single family homes sold fell from 1885 transactions in 2007 to 1630 in 2008. ( a decline of 13.5%)

The average selling price for condominiums sold in the Blackstone Valley area in 2008 fell dramatically over 23% from $216,896 in 2007 to $166,934.  The change in the number of condo units sold was startling (-25%) as 2008 numbers came in at 493 as compared to 2007 numbers of 660.
