Winter in Northeastern Pennsylvania is beautiful! Or should I say, more precisely Wayne and Pike Counties. Our small towns are full of charm and friendliness. Even those who don't especially like the cold (namely myself) will put on layers of clothing to brave the elements. Honesdale (my hometown) sponsors many weekend events such as ice sculpting and horse drawn sleigh rides complete with music and of course hot chocolate.
Milford, our charming Pike County seat (to our south) is equally enthusiastic to encourage our locals and tourists out of the warmth of the indoors and into the warmth of small town fun.
Check out this link to a Winter Lights Fest in Milford Pennsylvania which starts today.
January 24th thru January 31st.

While you are in the area take a drive along the Delaware River or Lackawaxen River to view the eagles. This time of year is perfect for viewing them.
Whatever the reason, get outside and enjoy!
