Boy I'm Glad I didn't Wear A Skirt Today!

By
Real Estate Agent with Prudential California Realty

over the wallI spent all day showing properties in the city I love, live, and work in....Fullerton CA!  You never know what will happen when you show a bunch of properties, especially the bank owned ones!

My clients and I have had to duck and cover because we thought spiders were falling in our hair, plug our noses because of the stench and even run out of a house because we swore someone was hiding in one of the closet. Basically, it's always an adventure!

Well, today took the cake.  My client and I walked into a bank owned condo and looked around. It wasn't bad but not really for her.  When we went to leave, we noticed that there was NO DOOR KNOB!  Just a hole where it should be. We tried everything to get that door opened. Nothing worked. We were locked in!

So, what did I do?  What any good agent would do of course, hiked my leg up and scaled over the balcony wall. My client was laughing so hard and I am just glad I was able to run around to the front and let  her out.

And to think, I almost wore a skirt today!

Cristal - That is a funny story.  Question that I have is, did you not notice the missing doorknob when you entered the home?  The things we realtors do for our clients.  I guess you really had no choice.  Good job, and thanks for the laugh.

Cristal - This reminds me of the time that I received a frantic phone call from a client who had locked herself and her friend out of their new home, when it was around 30 degrees and they were on the upstairs balcony.  It's nice to feel like a superhero sometimes!

Terri, We have to take care of our clients, right? :o)

Troy, can you believe that I did NOT notice that the door knob was missing?  That is odd for me becaues I usually lock the door behind me when entering a vacant house!

April, I am curious to hear how your ending would go!

Super Jason to the rescue! Whew!

JL, yes, just a little time!

Johnathan, good thing, huh?  :o)

Cristal - I have become increasingly accustomed to wearing pants on property showings.  With the high number of vacant properties out there, they are a tad warmer, and you simply don't know what you will unexpectedly encounter :-)  Last summer, I was wearing white pants, while showing an empty home.  I happened to look down and the pants had turned gray from the ankle to the knee.  The house was infested with fleas, and they jumped me the minute I stepped foot on the living room carpet.

This is exactly why I try  to wear pants. It' s also better if you have to run from someones nipping little doggie!

that's too funny.  I don't have any stories like that. The most interesting thing I've seen at an REO property was in San Ramon, where the owner left in such a hurry, they left behind their 50 gallan fish tank. It was full of algae, but peircing through it we could still see fish.

We saw some food nearby and feed the poor fishes.
