Won't you be my neighbor?

How frequently does one actually get to know or even like their neighbors?  I mean, seriously, most of us are of the mindset to open our garage, drive into it and close it without giving the neighbors a glance, smile or even a nod.  Others are lucky, get to know and like their neighbors and become close friends.

I have owned three homes in my lifetime, all in San Antonio.  I had a series of bizarre happenings last year one after the other, my buyers bought in the same neighborhoods as the home I grew up in, my first home purchase and my second home purchase.  This week I had the opportunity to sell a home on the street I live on now!  How's that for picking your neighbors?

I have been showing a couple in the area & price range they requested.  They were looking to move closer to their daughter that they spend a considerable amount of time with.  Of the homes that were in the area & price range they requested, their number 1 choice just so happens to be on my street

I am really excited to know & like my new neighbors, Paul & Emily Carbajal

Welcome to the neighborhood!

Kristin, I just counted eight neighbors on my block who I met liked and found a house here.  And some of them told friends in their old condo buildings who moved up.  It makes things lots of fun.

LOL @ Shirley!!!

Kristin, it's always fun when you get to learn a little something about your new neighbors before they even move in.  I've had that chance 3 times now on my own little block!

Hi again, KM, We have wonderful neighbors.  One neighbor often has a kind of open house with food in his driveway, especially on Saturday or Sunday evenings.  Everyone's invited.

Hi Kristin, It's nice when you can have good neighbors. We've lived in our neighborhood for about a year and still don't know many people--although we did move into the same neighborhood as our best friends so that is great.

Have a great weekend,

Anne Rains

Howdy Kristin!

I live in a market that is predominately military.  If they are not active duty, they are here because someone they love is or they work as contractors on the base.  It is so important for us to know our neighbors because we are constantly watching eachothers homes.  Since we do not live close to family, our friends and neighbors take their place.  We are constantly leaving to go see family or soldiers are gone on deployments and we have to rely on eachother for help.  I have not sold anyone a home in my neighborhood yet but I do know my neighbors well.

Congratulations to Paul & Emily Carbajal for having such a neat neighbor!

What a great story! I love getting to know my neighbors and I am usually pretty lucky with that!  My favorite neighbors were three houses ago and my neighbors came over with home made brownies and welcomed us to the neighborhood with a party! It was the best!

We don't have close neighbors since our home is n almost five acres but know allot of people and they always honk when they go down the main road. We do have one neighbor that we know and we put up a gate so we can go back and forth to visit. We do a soup thing, when they fix soup they send some over and we do the same. We help each other whenever we have a project going and need an extra set of hands. Don't know many of the others they seem to come and go, sell and resell and too far to really get to know.
