Hi Mary, These guys must have incredible physical coordination, sense of balance, and no fear of heights. Amazing.
Hi Mary, Reminds me of my husband. He has been building houses for 30+ years and is always up high or on a roof, or walking beams or something - scares me!
Good morning Mary - I want to make a comment about (blog) "Posts" , but it seems a bit too obvious - have a great sunday
Hi Shirley, definitely no fear... or really good balance! It made me so nervous just watching them! Thanks for stopping in today oops.. last night! Have a great Sunday!
Hi Liz, I haven't seen that for ages! I love the way your mind works! Thanks for your thoughts.
Good morning Sandy, I don't know how they do it! This day, I missed some good shots of my husband because I just had to turn away!! Scared me to watch him! Thanks Sandy!
LOL James !! Good one! Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great Sunday, too!
Mary, That is one very brave young man! I guess if you're used to it, it's no big deal!
Debi
Hi (you have a new name) Mary FeatherHead....you probably saw this coming LOL. Is that your hubby up on the log??? He looks very secure! I don't quite know what the object is in his hands, does it have anything to do with maintaining balance? Are you building a new home? I call myself the girl with a million questions, can't help it ;-)
Mary, excellent photo, one does not see very often unless you are around new construction, its common for framers to walk around on the top plate of walls. I;ve seen them walk the wall plate on two and three story building.

Hi Debi, He was used to it... Patrick "came" with the log package, and helped my husband & a few friends put it together!
Hi Gail, HAHAHAHA!! Mary FeatherHead?? Hmmmm, I'll have to think about that one :-) You ARE the girl with a million questions !!:-)
My husband is the one to the left, Patrick is standing on the log --- I don't know the name of the tool, but it has a big hook on the end that helped him control the logs. We were going through old pictures last night - this one is from when we built our house in 1996- I scanned it into the computer.
What you cannot see is that the 40' log he is standing on is swinging by a cable from a crane, both are out of the picture. They were swinging the log over and Patrick was guiding it and making sure it didn't get hung up on that horizontal beam.... the fall backwards was probably 25 feet !! YIKES !!
Debi and Gail you girls crack me up!! Mary Featherhead and the Pikes Peak sea all in one day HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Mary, Good Grief! Patrick's wife must hate it when the phone rings! Hope he gets hazard pay...
Debi
Hi Roy, I've seen them do that, too ! but I don't know how , it's pretty amazing to me! Thanks for stopping by and commenting today.
Debi, I agree, his wife probably worries about him!
Hey - that scanned photo turned out pretty good. the 40' log he is standing on is swinging by a cable from a crane...all I can say is better him than Patrick! Debi, hazard pay LOL. The girls had some fun today.
Nice looking house FeatherHead!
... how the heck is that tiny toothpick in the middle holding up that whopping great big log ????
.... amazing how they build stuff huh !!!!!
Great pic Mary :o)
Hi Sheldon.. I truly have no idea !! The toothpick was later replaced with large metal poles that had plates that adjust for the log shrinkage.. they are concealed in the interior wall....very high tech..??
amazing that the pioneers built many cabins and bridges and all kinds of things that are still standing!! Thanks Sheldon !
Mary,
Nice shot and a great title. It looks like the guy on the left is trying to knock off the guy who standing on the timber. :)
Steve
Hi Steve, Thank you! No, the guy on left wasn't trying to throw off the other guy!! LOL! Now, that I look at it, it could appear that way! Thanks for stopping by tonight, I appreciate your comments!
