Are you an Ambassador for your area?

By
Real Estate Agent with Novella Real Estate
Mountains with a dusting of snow in Rocky Mountain ParkSelling real estate takes many skills.  Aside from the technical skills of real estate sales, Realtors need to know the housing market, distinctions of the various neighborhoods, price ranges, values, trends, construction styles, floor plans and neighborhood amenities.
All these skills are packed into one package, us The Realtor.
Many of these skills are learned on the job, over time.  Others we overtly must investigate, so we can relate to our clients and customers.  Not all things interest us personally, but Realtors find the more they know the better they can assist a buyer in finding the right home.
As a Realtor, I often have questions directed at me, that I know nothing about.  Questions like these stir me into action, to learn more about what I don't know.
Educating myself, so I can help others is what my work is about.  I am an Ambassador for Denver, Colorado and my profession.
How do you sharpen your Ambassador Skills?

Every time I get the opportunity, I try to be an "ambassador" for my area.  I love living here, and take the time to let those I deal with, especially those from outside the area, know all about what we have to offer here.  And I am certainly an "ambassador" for our profession!  I think we all should be, both for where we live & work, and for what we do.   I recently made a couple of posts in my blog here on AR about my area.  ;-)

By the way, very pretty picture!

Kristal,

I am all about being an ambassador for my area and my profession. I like to stay on top of things going on in my fair city.  I'm very active in the community.

I also like to be an ambassador for new agents.  Because I'm considered to be "young" the new agents are typically my age.  In my market, I may be one of the youngest agents selling in the price range that I sell in.  Bad sentence structure... but its all I got!  So the new agents all want to know how I did it.

As you know, that is a whole other topic.  IN FACT... you just inspired my next post.

Carl, Thanks, the presentation is over.  Whew!

Ann, It's easy to sell what we love.

Sara, Somedays I feel as though I work for the Chamber of Commerce.  Good thing I love it here.

Gee whiz... I was just about to include a link to this wonderful post on Dustin's post about your interview and found that there were only four comments so far!  How can that be???

Kristal, just know that this was a memorable post of yours to me (even if I, too, hadn't already commented on it yet)... or I wouldn't have remembered to look for it so I could link to it.
