Curb Appeal

When buyers drive past a home for sale and do not like the outside, more times than not they keep driving past. It is as important or more to take care of the outside of your home as it is the inside. It is the wrapping on the beautiful present that is your home! There are a few easy things one can do in a short amount of time to increase their homes curb appeal.

Begin by parking across the street from your house and looking at it with new eyes. Pretend you have never been to this house. How does it look? Are there dead plants? Are the front door and mailbox in good repair? If it is night time, are there landscape lights? Can you see the address posted on the home? If not, get started on changing these items.

These are just a few of the simple things one can do to improve his/her curb appeal. Start today and before you know it your home will be as inviting to future buyers as it is to you.

Tonight 1/26/2009 at 7pm I will be discussing curb appeal at the Garden Dale Garden Club by invitation from Mary Wardlaw. I hope to empower the garden club members to change the way their home is viewed with small steps resulting in greater overall curb appeal for the neighborhood.
