The Old Mastermind Group... Are They Still Alive?

By

Years ago, we had a wonderful Mastermind Group that met on a monthly basis to share Real Estate ideas. What was really exceptional about this group was that it didn't matter what company you were affiliated! Most of our ideas were about organizational items, what you were learning on the computer (which was basicly;"Here's how to turn it on!" ...this was quite a few years ago!), and here's a situation and here's how I handled it--- any other suggestions.  We didn't eat breakfast, exchange referrals (we were all on this 10 mile long island together!), nor did we discuss company policies.  We just shared ideas, knowledge, books, and empathy!  For some unknown (or not remembered!) reason ,we eventually stopped meeting.

Last evening, I met with a member of the old Mastermind's group and we shared a bunch of new ideas, websites, books, and general island "news" (gossip?).  What are great evening it was!  Someone who's in-the-business, understands the present MARKET and is willing to share ,made all the difference in keeping an upbeat attitude.  I'm excited about business!

So my questions are: Are there any Mastermind groups still working?  What are their criteria?  And would it be worthwhile to reactive the previous group, bringing in some "young lions"  with their fresh ideas?

All suggestions appreciated!

Kathy,  I have tried to get a mastrmind group going on marketing (the field I am in) and have not been successful.  People are so busy that they don't see the value.  Would love to hear if you are successful in getting one going.  This is one of the key topics in "Think And Grow Rich" and I think these groups have a lot of value.

You hear whispers about them here and there...but there are sooo many folks that are sooo worried about watching their backs, that sharing is....shall we say "not so much"....best wishes !

Sounds like a great idea.  It is a good way to keep a pulse on the market and know that you are not alone.

It sounds like a great idea, and I have heard similar thoughts going on around here about having a group get together to share ideas, but nobody has organized it yet.  Everyone is either scattered or busy with work and life that a group like this just hasn't gotten together around here.

Napoleon Hill was a big fan of creating mastermind groups.  As a society we seem to have become too busy (as Jenn suggests) and/or much less trusting (as Robin hints at).  Now that we are so cyber, AR is the new mastermind.

I think everyone decided to stay at home and work on their computers. I've tried to join some various groups here but attendance is too spotty, and that's putting it nicely.
